Floors fit for a king in an ordinary home?

How will you feel when walking over the same floor as in Wawel Castle, every day?

Look at the floor in one of the towers of Wawel Castle, that we made:

What is interesting, such wood flooring can ultimately cost less than an ordinary floor – not at the time of purchase but over the course of many years of use, because it is indestructible! Let’s do some calculations:

1) you will pay approx. 50% less for typical laminated panels of medium quality, including installation, than for a wood floor (of course, you can buy cheaper flooring, but it will have to be replaced even sooner)

2) You can use a wood floor for many decades, but let us assume a lifetime, 50 years or so.

3) Over the course of this period, you will scrape a floor with oil wax finish 2-3 times, or maybe not at all or only once. At the third scraping, the cost is 75% of the first purchase of flooring (for 50 years).

4) You will replace panels every 10 years, maybe even more often. For replacement every 10 years, the cost totals 250% of the value of a wood floor.

To sum up – over the course of 50 years, the cost of panels is at least 30% higher than that of a Kolibri wood floor.
